Who Is Jermain Defoe?
Ex England International Jermain Defoe is one of the greatest strikers in Premier League history. Scoring 162 goals in 496 games, he is currently the eighth-highest scorer in PL history. In 2011, he became the 20th player to score a century of PL goals.
Jermain has played for Charlton, West Ham, Tottenham, Portsmouth, Toronto, Bournemouth, Rangers and Sunderland. During his time at Sunderland, he befriended Bradley Lowery, a terminally-ill six-year-old fan. Defoe supported and protected Bradley in a special way. Lowery sadly lost his battle with neuroblastoma.
In 2018, he was awarded an OBE for services to the Jermain Defoe Foundation, a charitable foundation he founded in 2013. Jermain lives an extremely healthy lifestyle and has been a vegan for a number of years which has helped prolonged his football career. He is an extremely comfortable speaker and his football knowledge is of the very highest level.
Since retiring in 2022, Jermain has worked with various TV productions such as DAZN, Sky Sports, Premier League, MOTD, ITV, and Channel 4, in which he has covered many Premier League and International games.
Jermain is a brand ambassador for Adidas and has a long lasting relationship with the brand. He has also worked for brands such as Emma Sleep, EA Sports, Ambrosia and JD Sports. to name a few.
